2023 Giving Campaign Goal: $5,000.00

This year we are allocating our donations for the end-of-the-year “Giving Campaign of 2023” to continue our kids programs. The funds will be used to pay for ongoing classes, supplies, and teachers so that our kid’s program can continue to grow.

We would like you to join us in reaching this goal for this year’s campaign. When you donate to the art center it will help us to continue to fund programs for our youngest students and keep the prices affordable for the students without interruption or price increase. Our target would be to raise enough to cover the cost of the programs we offer for toddlers through teens. Therefore, our goal has been set at $5,000.00.

At the Clio Center for the Arts, we see firsthand the impact art can have on a child’s life. As schools continue to cut art programs we are striving to add more, while keeping program costs low and affordable. Art has been shown to promote self-esteem and self-expression in children while stimulating creativity and problem-solving skills.

In the Summer of 2023, we held our first Summer Art Camp with 10 students. Our Summer Art Camp ran for 5 weeks, 3 days a week, for $175 per student. Our K-4th grade students did a variety of arts, and crafts including pottery. 5th- 8th-grade students were able to try stained glass, drawing, extreme arts & crafts, pottery, and watercolor painting. While partnering with the Meet Up and Eat Up program through the Eastern Michigan Food Bank we were able to include a free lunch for not only our Summer Art Camp students but also any child under 18 in our community. For our 2024 Summer Art Camp, we would like to expand our program to offer Summer Art Camp to high school students.

In the Fall of 2023, we added our Toddler Craft Time for toddlers 2-4 years old. In Toddler Craft Time toddlers are introduced to different art mediums while making various art and crafts. Art is a great way for toddlers to learn fine motor skills, while also learning social skills in a small group setting. Toddler Craft Time is currently offered bi-weekly, for $5 per student.

Our Homeschool Art Classes offer quality art classes for students who may not have other opportunities to learn art. In the Fall of 2023 our Homeschool Art Classes were greatly expanded, we have had 40+ homeschool students attend our Homeschool Art Classes this fall. Not only did we fill our K-4th grade classes, but we added a second K-4th grade class, in addition, we offer classes for 5-8th and 9-12th.

While our Summer Art Camp, Toddler Craft Time, and Homeschool Art Classes are our three largest art programs offered, we have a variety of art classes for children and teens all year. Classes included our Children’s Arts & Crafts, Jr. Artist, Extreme Arts & Crafts, Sewing, Kids and Teen Pottery, and more.

Our children’s art programs are a valuable program to fund and would like to be able to continue with your help. Please join us in making a difference in our community!
